Pequea Zebra Samples

—1993-94 Teacher’s sample clay animal box for 6th grade clay project. Utilizing of all surfaces to demonstrate pushing limits of the simple box form; inside and bottom for documenting highlights of that year of teaching. The zebra theme was explored as a new sample for each of the six years of teaching at the elementary level.

—1994-95 Sample this year pushing past the basic box to show those possibilities. A lesson in calm when it was broken later in the year, showing the power to understand accidents, mistakes, and honesty.

—1995-976The concept of this sample was a purple zebra rocking horse on flat feet. This showed students more possibilities of construction outside the box.

—1996-97 A boogie bear of a schedule. This sample was an illustration of how to handle a difficult daily schedule of many different grade levels in one day, and none back to back. It was hard to stay above water.

—1997-98 This is the 5th of the teacher samples. Personal expressions were starting to include piercings and tattoos, and this fun zebra reflects that. The students loved the sunglasses.

—1998-99 This is the last of the teacher samples for the 6th grade students for each year that I taught in the elementary schools. I transferred to the HS in 1999-2000, teaching Art I, Ceramics, and Yearbook.
