Information

I shared my passion and love of art with students of all ages by teaching in the public schools, and transitioned from that in 2012 to focus on family and art making. I have always been active in book group and in years past met with a small art group for lively monthly discussions sharing art, production and showing. Seasons of making, and seasons of hoping. I highlight my whimsical and serious efforts here with this new site which replaced my old site in 2022. I use Instagram to illustrate and chronicle the process of moving forward, moving past grief, and currently exploring stream-of-consciousness work around freedom of speech. I strive to bridge the sacred and secular by exploring the paradoxes of life and why doubt and struggle serve to buoy happiness. I honor all work that makes life meaningful and I encourage people to keep exploring.

I have 39 journal volumes and write every day. I never thought I’d ever do anything with the writing beyond just collecting my thoughts and documenting them in a very structured way. But in the last few years, I’ve been thinking, thinking, thinking – that I’d like to try to pull all the threads of my thoughts together to write something. I am a joyful person who has lived the past eight years processing grieving with resolve to move to forward, for as my mother says, “Life is for the living.” Now I wish this movement to be in a different and more deliberate and productive way that expresses this process in both my visual and written work. I am excited to see where this next phase takes me.
